1st Day: a
ccommodation and dinner at the hotel.
2nd Day: Mentone & Villa Hanbury
Menton, the "City of Lemons," is located in the mildest part of the French Riviera and has fascinated visitors for nearly 250 years. The Hanbury Botanical Garden at Cap Mortola/Ventimiglia has existed since 1867 and covers an area of 18 hectares. It was conceived and laid out as a typical English landscape garden. The garden's layout unfolds through various themes and climate zones.
3rd Day: Albenga, wild herbs and edible flowers
Albenga's historic center boasts ancient buildings of great interest, both historically and architecturally. After crossing the Centa River and briefly visiting the Roman amphitheater, our walk takes us to the ancient Roman road, Via Julia Augusta, where we can still see intact funerary monuments. The Mediterranean vegetation surrounds us with its fragrances, and trees such as carob, Aleppo pine, and eucalyptus offer us shade. We walk along flat paths and enjoy splendid views of the sea and the island of Gallinara. Along the way, we find the medieval churches of Sant'Anna ai Monti and Santa Croce. Your hiking guide is a certified herb collector and herb hunter, who will show you the edible wild herbs of our area. The tour continues with a visit to a farm near Albenga, where they grow organic edible flowers. You can enjoy snacks made with edible flowers and participate in a small cooking show.
