Excursion to Genoa "La Superba"
Half Day

Visit Europe's largest medieval old town and the huge port structure with its centre 'Porto Antico', brought back to life by the world-famous architect Renzo Piano.
The city tour is partly on foot and partly by bus, to better appreciate the city's urban design. We now continue towards the centre, past the city gates at Piazza De Ferrari and Palazzo Ducale, the main shopping street of Via XX Settembre with its decorated palace façades, the Columbus House to the neoclassical Piazza della Vittoria. Of particular interest are the medieval Palazzo Ducale and the National Gallery of Palazzo Spinola with its magnificent frescoes.
Discover the biodiversity of the underwater world in the famous Aquarium with its large number of animal species, genera and tanks that make the visit a unique experience.

Excursion to Sanremo
Half Day

Sanremo is the unquestionable capital of the Riviera dei Fiori and one of the oldest winter resorts on the Ligurian coast: magnificent old villas with huge parks still bear witness to the 'old days'.
Stay in Sanremo with a walk through the city centre. Through the main shopping street of Via Matteotti, you can enter the Art Nouveau-style Casino, one of the city's main attractions.
Many years ago, the famous Italian song festival, which has now moved permanently to the Ariston Theatre, was held here. Through narrow alleys with romantic arcades, you pass the Romanesque church of S. Siro to the pedestrian zone of Via Palazzo.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to see Sanremo's flower market, the economic heart of the city (here, overnight, flowers are auctioned and sent all over Europe), but you can still enjoy the sight of flowers and potted plants at every corner.

Sanremo & its hinterland
Full Day

During this full-day excursion, you will visit the centre of San Remo, with its Art Nouveau-style casino, a Russian-style chieda, the elegant boutiques in Via Matteotti, two harbours, and huge parks.
The local tour guide will show you the interesting corners and give you tips for your free time, during which you can enjoy Sanremo in total freedom. You then continue on the picturesque coastal road through the elegant Ospedaletti and the climatic health resort of Bordighera (visit the weekly market on Thursdays) and then inland to Dolceacqua, the birthplace of Admiral Andrea Doria's mother.
A picturesque 33-metre-long Romanesque bridge leads to the medieval quarter, dominated by the ruins of the 'Doria Castle'. The walk through the alleys, mostly lovingly restored, always surprises and is a pleasant experience for every guest. In autumn, the area exudes, from every corner, the must of the quality Ligurian 'Rossese' wine, typical of the area. Return to the hotel in the late afternoon.

Tasting menu provided in the cellar:

  • tasting of high quality typical wines
  • different types of pasta with pesto alla Genovese or cold-pressed olive oil (from Taggiasca olives)
  • freshly baked bread with mixed cold cuts and typical Ligurian products such as olive pate, pesto alla genovese
  • pitted olives in brine
  • cakes speciality

The Cinque Terre
Full day

The Cinque Terre, a national nature reserve in the Mediterranean area, is a natural treasure of rich diversity: it offers hiking trails with magical views. Five villages: Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, a village on a hill, Vernazza and Monterosso, the only village with a beach. In La Spezia you will meet the tour guide and take the train first to Vernazza and then to Monterosso, the easternmost town of the Cinque Terre. In the afternoon return by boat along the Cinque Terre coast from Monterosso to La Spezia with an intermediate stop in Portovenere. One of the most beautiful rocky coastlines in Italy: jagged rocks and steep hills with typical Ligurian dry-stone walls, on whose 'terraces' the grapes for the best white wines in Liguria grow.

RAPALLO.08-WEB-H.jpg

Genoa, Rapallo & Portofino
Full day

Genoa, once the most important maritime republic in the entire Mediterranean, is the first stop on today's excursion. A very interesting city tour, leading along Europe's largest medieval old town and the impressive harbour structure. Some free time and then it is time for the most beautiful route of the entire bus trip: on the coastal road via Aurelia, along the romantic rocky east coast of Liguria to Rapallo, in the direction of the Gulf of Tigullio. The boat trip starts from Rapallo via Santa Margherita Ligure to Portofino (duration approximately 30 minutes). Portofino is a small village with colourful tower houses that line the harbour with elegant luxury yachts. In any case, it is definitely worth making a diversion to the parish church of the local saint of San Giorgio. You will also be attracted by small painting galleries, irresistible boutique exhibitions and, of course, the cosy street cafés.
There you just have to try the 'Paciugo' ice cream flavour (vanilla, strawberry, whipped cream and red fruits ice cream)! Return by boat to Rapallo and from there continue by bus to the motorway.
IMPORTANT: in case of bad weather, possibility to visit the Genoa Aquarium. You will then continue on to Rapallo.

Boat trip to Portofino

Periods: March, April, May, until mid-June, from mid-September, October.

You will reach Pegli by bus, then board speedboats and sail through the gulf, along the coast of Genoa and, with a bit of luck, see whales and dolphins. After approximately 1,5 to 2 hours, you arrive in Portofino, a small village with colourful tower houses lining the harbour with elegant luxury yachts.
In any case, it is worth making a diversion to the parish church of the local saint of San Giorgio to enjoy the breathtaking view, with a bird's eye view, of Portofino and its bay. Continuing on, you will be attracted by small painting galleries, irresistible boutique exhibitions and, of course, the cosy street cafés.
There, you just have to try the 'Paciugo' ice cream flavour (vanilla, strawberry, whipped cream and red fruits ice cream)! After two hours, return. Depending on the weather and the minimum number of participants, the excursion can be postponed to the next possible day or an alternative can be given.
