Savona boasts a rich artistic heritage, including the 16th-century Priamar fortress, considered one of the most impressive fortifications overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Next to Priamar is the old Darsena, the beating heart of the city and a welcoming leisure destination in every season, with bars and restaurants. But Savona is also one of Italy's main cruise ports, with two Costa cruise ship terminals. It is famous for its production of chinotto, a citrus fruit typical of the Riviera di Ponente and a Slow Food Presidium.
