"City of beauty"

Portovenere owes its name to the temple of Venus that stood on the site where the romantic and ancient church of San Pietro now stands, at the furthest point of the promontory. If you arrive by boat, you will be overwhelmed by its beauty. It is no coincidence that, together with the three islands of the archipelago (Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto) and the Cinque Terre, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a seaside village on the Riviera di Levante with a unique charm, one of the most beautiful and most photographed places in Liguria. From a fishing village, it has been transformed into a stronghold on the sea, whose walls still stand today. In a few minutes by boat, you can reach Palmaria, the only inhabited island in Liguria, a nature reserve criss-crossed by paths and tourist trails.
